The False Coyote settles down by the time this story rolls around, and is a good friend of Jesse’s. Usually, anyway. When Redmond secretly follows Jesse during her nightly pilgrimages into Hell’s Gate, the presence of a human makes all the little desert spirits out there lose their marbles (a la Spirited Away.) She may be terribly lucky or terribly unlucky that they are friends, because the False Coyote is not immune to the drama of it all.
[Long description:
The Reverend meets with the False Coyote, who regards her a little coldly, a little coyly.
The False Coyote: Oh Jesse…
Dear, sweet, naive Jesse…
I can smell her on you.]
