[Long description:

The Warden emerges from Tamahuaq’s hungry mouth as a puppet of himself. He is physically manipulated by its tongue made of many grasping hands, and he arches his back, his arms bound up tightly in Tamahuaq’s mouth. Without any sensory faculties to speak of, Tamahuaq uses the Warden to touch and taste the world around it. It comes upon Yuri, buck-naked and helpless, but for the Warden’s sword, which he clutches tightly. As Tamahuaq begins to taste him, the Warden cries out in pain, or maybe pleasure. Yuri reciprocates in kind.]

I don’t think he was alive to begin with. He was an empty space. What happens to an empty space when you fill it? It ceases to exist.
