A minimization of Mordremoth looming over the boys, e.g. the Lastborn, Yuri, and Trahearne. The Dragon says, “Happy anniversary. I made you a gift. You like to raise propagules, right? Despite certain mechanical incongruences that preclude you from conceiving offspring.”

Before they can voice their confusion, Mordremoth unhinges his jaw and spits out a tiny wet bundle into Yuri’s waiting but uncomprehending hands. It’s a baby Teragriff. The boys recoil in shock.

There are some other scribbles of the baby Teragriff, including one when he’s a little older. He looks like a cross between a sphinx and a Teragriff, with uncanny, human-like eyes and nosebridge, but the rest of his face is still very muzzle-shaped. He also has stubby, nonfunctional wings, though they’re less lethal-looking than a typical Teragriff’s.

When the Vinetooth finds him, tubby and hapless, she narrows her eyes at him darkly. He raises his chubby paw-hands up to her anyway. The introduction apparently goes better than expected, because she carries the Teragriff by his underarms to show Yuri. She deadpans, “Babie.” and Yuri responds “That’s right!”]
